June

The moment June hit Xfinity Theatre, a meteor of a rap outfit came to play. Grammy Award-winning rap phenom 21 Savage came to town with his highly revered American Dream Tour. The outing, which promoted his monumental new album with the same title delivered mouthwatering smashers, from “Redrum,” to “Nee-Nah,” “Prove It,” and tons more. This talented dynamo also belted out titles like “Runnin,” “No Heart,” “Dark Days,” and “All of Me.” On top of his amazing solo work and collabs with Metro Boomin, 21 Savage also busted out some magnificent covers. The show also brought hip-hop wunderkind J.I.D. to the stage. So imagine how pumped the crowd was when these two rappers performed “Surround Sound.” The showdown was definitely fire – as 21 Savage delivered pyro, visual effects, and top caliber production.

From 21 Savage to A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie – Xfinity Theatre defintiely turned up for hip-hop fans this month. The Better Off Alone Global Tour delivered a thrilling run of remarkable titles from the rapper’s latest album. You betcha the BET Award-winning phenom delivered a grand spankin spectacle and it was a hip-hop show that deserved to be in the best of- lists.

Country music also played a monumental role in turning June into a sensational month. Grammy winning singer-songwriter Hank Williams Jr. came in with his massive tour, which also happened to feature Charley Crockett as a special guest. The 45 Years of Family Tradition Tour celebrated Williams’ 28th release. The show gave out a bunch of brilliant hits from the album, including “I Fought the Law” and the thrilling title track.

July

We’re not kidding when we say July was a massive throwback. Alanis Morisette came out to deliver the Triple Moon Tour. The night was packed with incredible talent and astounding girl power as Morisette brought with her Joan Jett and the Black Hearts and Morgan Wade. The night was brimming with insane, powerful vocals. These women definitely knew how to rock and the audience left the venue that night with all smiles.

A headbang worthy bonanza also came out to rock like it was year 1995 as Blink 182 came out to give the biggest pop punk show of the season. The platinum selling trio busted out some magnificent smashing hits including “All the Small Things,” “What’s My Age Again,” “Stay Together for the Kids,” and “One More Time.” It was the perfect balance of classics and new titles and O.G. fans and newer listeners definitely had a blast.

August

As summer was at its peak, the shows also came in by the bulk. The month of August saw some of the most sensational spectacles including the family friendly showdown of the Barbie the Movie in Concert. The film was 2023’s highest grossing film and its score was given a spectacular live music treatment! The grand orchestra took over and brought this fascinating live action film to life. The month also brought some groundbreaking rock bonanza to town as the venue hosted the hottest shows including Train, who co headlined the Summer Road Trip tour with legendary band REO Speedwagon, and rock phenomenon Yacht Rock Reveue. “Great concert. Great venue. We saw Train with REO Speedwagon and Yacht Rock Revue. The drink options were better than you would expect for a concert venue,” wrote Mark M. from New York.

Speaking of throwback rock ragers, The Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour also came into play with legendary O.G. rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top. Meanwhile, Avril Lavigne brought out all the pop punk rockers this month and had them going all out to hits like “Sk8er Boi,” “Complicated,” “Girlfriend,” and more. The show featured Lavigne’s most magnificent work including her latest album, Love Sux.

Another fantastic retrospective trip was the Summer Camp with Trucks Tour featuring 90s sensation, Hootie and the Blowfish. The band reunited in 2018 for a few select special shows but they haven’t done a full tour since 2019. The year 2024 marked the first time Hootie and the Blowfish went out on a massive tour and their showdown at the Xfinity Theatre definitely brought out all the stops. You bet this quartet delivered what the crowd wanted – a plethora of top caliber smashers from their ‘90s catalog, but the band also busted out some newer songs from their 2019 album Imperfect Circle.

Lastly, the Xfinity Theatre delivered the biggest throwback of them all – The New Kids on the Block’s Magic Summer 2024. The tour brought together the iconic quintet who toured with special guest Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff. You bet that this monumental pop bonanza delivered the band’s mindblowing catalog.

September

The summer season went out with a bang – and it’s in the form of two gargantuan shows by music heavyweights Post Malone and Pitbull. Post Malone is probably 2024’s biggest star. After all, he released summer’s biggest hit, “I Had Some Help.” After transitioning to country music and releasing collaboration singles with the biggest country icons, Post Malone delivered the biggest and hottest tour of 2024. Meanwhile, Pitbull brought out a massive party – and it was a magnificent rave that will have you raging like it was 2004.

Steph T. from Queen, New York, wrote in her glowing review that she went all the way to Hartford from New York, “The theatre was large. It’s actually outdoors but it has a roof. The only part that doesn’t have a roof is the lawn. The theatre is small enough that you don’t need to buy super expensive front-row tickets to see the artists.”

Meanwhile, Francesca F. from Middletown, Connecticut said, “If you’re looking for an incredible night out, this is the place! Getting in was no problem, quick and easy.” She also added that the venue had festival feels, “Before we even reached the concert area, there were food trucks and vendors like it was a festival– we almost had as much fun out there as at the show! Once we were in, we settled on the green and enjoyed a brilliant concert under the stars! Highly recommend spending an evening here!”
