Grammy-award winning artist Ne-Yo announced his Champagne and Roses Tour 2023 which features special guests Robin Thicke and Mario.
“This one's for the GROWN & SEXY!" Ne-Yo tweeted alongside the tour promotional post last June 12. The 15-city tour, produced by Live Nation, will start on September 9 at Detroit's Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill and stops in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston, and other cities before concluding on October 4 in Mountain View at Shoreline Amphitheatre.
Born in Arkansas, and raised in Las Vegas, Ne-Yo broke into the music industry as a songwriter for top-performing artists like Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson, and Beyonce. Working as a lyricist for Mario's number one pop hit "Let Me Love You", he became one of the most well-known singers during the early 2000s.
Over the years, Ne-Yo has shown that his writing ability is just as strong as his skills in the studio and on stage. The recording artist for Motown Records and Compound Entertainment is well-known for a series of hits including "Miss Independent," "Closer," "Because of You," and "Mad."
In 2022, Ne-Yo released Self-Explanatory, an album that critics deemed as the “most biographical album” out of all his records. “On his latest, eighth album, he showcases that still-distinctive voice. Across 13 tracks he meanders from spoken-register entreaties on Layin’ Low to melismatic runs on Don’t Love Me and breezy falsetto on Want It All or Nothing,” the Guardian shares.
Robin Thicke is an American artist known for flashy and contemporary hits which include the global smash "Blurred Lines." The same-titled album shot to the top of the Billboard 200 and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album. Completing the trio is the pop artist Mario, best known for his chart-topping single "Let Me Love You" amid a streak of four Top Ten R&B/hip-hop albums.
The event will be held at the Xfinity Theatre located in Hartford, Connecticut. As one of the biggest amphitheaters in the nation, it can accommodate 7,500 people indoors and an extra 22,500 outdoors on the lawn during the summer – right in time for the concert!
