Members of quintessential jam band the Grateful Dead have teamed up with singer/songwriter/guitarist John Mayer to take their progressive improv to new heights! Dead And Company comes to Xfinity Theatre on Tuesday 28th June for a night that shines a different light on the classic Dead tunes, rekindling the Grateful Dead flame and rising from it, like a psychedelic phoenix! Dead and Company are a supergroup formed of three of the "core four" members of the Grateful Dead, Bob Weir (guitar), Mickey Hart (drums), and Bill Kreutzmann (drums), multi-platinum selling Grammy Award-winner John Mayer (guitar), Grammy Award-winning virtuoso Oteil Burbridge (bass), and RatDog band member Jeff Chimenti (keyboards). Formed in 2015 after Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of the Grateful Dead tour, the idea for Dead and Company came when Mayer was guest hosting the The Late Late Show, and invited Weir to join him in a studio performance. Mayer had become an avid Grateful Dead fan over the few years previous, and when the two bonded, Mayer dedicated himself to learning the Grateful Dead back catalog in time for a stand alone concert on October 31 at Madison Square Garden in New York. When the response from fans turned out to be overwhelmingly positive, they added a further 21 shows and developed it into a full tour.
